Here is me looking tired after the workshop and extremely chuffed to meet her!!

Instagram Star

As you’ve probably noticed if you’ve been reading my blog I love Social Media… I’m probably slightly addicted to be fair. At the moment I especially love Instagram! And since they have introduced “stories” (a feature where you can publish snaps of your day… little videos etc) I love it even more!

I’ve been following Kerri for about a year and a half since I came across her and her friend Kino MacGregor’s handstand programme Journey To Handstand which I’ve written about in the past! Kino is absolutely amazing but I always connected a little more with Kerri as she just seemed a bit more “real”… talking about her back and hamstring issues and challenges of becoming strong and flexible!

So when I heard from my blogger pal Andreea from Penny Plain Fit that Kerri was offering a workshop in London at Indaba Yoga I just had to go! It was a three day workshop and I would have absolutely loved to go to all three days but that would have meant quite a lot of negotiation at home of course so I settled for one day which was at least something.

I arrived at the workshop with 25% battery left on my phone which is pretty bad if you’re about to spend three hours with an Instagram star of course! I wanted to take all these amazing photos, videos, snap for snapchat etc – it’s not very often that yoga teachers allow this to happen during their classes – so I was absolutely gutted!

It was just enough to take a few pictures and to be fair it meant that I could just switch off my phone for the rest of the workshop and enjoy it! We got some great tips about handstand preparation, did lots of core work and even some dropbacks (backbends)! Kerry talked a lot about her own practice and how she follows the 50/50 principle: 50% strength, 50% flexibility.

I got lots of new inspiration and it was really great to meet Kerri, ask questions and get to know her a little bit more “in real life”. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a workshop with 85 crammed into one room which just proved the power of social media!

Here are a couple of pictures of Kerri in action before my battery ran out…

…It was just enough to get a few pictures together with Kerri at the end of the class!

And of course I was delighted to finally meet the lovely Andreea from Penny Plain Fit! Check out her blog if you love fitness, running and want to get some great nutrition tips!

  1. Thank you for the mention! I also have a blog post ready to be published :). On Saturday it was absolutely full, the yoga mats were almost glued together, but Sunday was ok, you could have come. So don’t miss it next year, she said she does the workshops every year.

  2. Wow, this must have been amazing to attend! I love following Kerri on Instagram (anyone else slightly jealous of her new yoga room?!) Good to hear she holds yearly workshops -I had better make it a personal aim to go!
