My captured moment – Love and Marriage

As Valentine’s Day is approaching I take a look back at this time four years ago when we were busy preparing our wedding. This was our wedding invitation (“Guess who is getting married?”) and it’s quite amazing to look back at it now, having a little boy and a little girl who look very similar to those people in the picture! 

(Opinions are obviously divided on who looks like who but I think little Leo looks just like his Daddy and Maya like her Mummy!)

We had a wonderful wedding in the South West of France – a multi-cultural affair with lots of family and friends from all over the world. 


Obviously there were small issues like undercooked meat (fine for the French but not so much for our English and German guests…) and some language barriers (the more wine you drink the less this matters) but we had the best day!!


Four years later we are not the same people, our lives have been turned upside down by our two little ones but our bond is stronger than ever!


I love this cheeky tree picture… To me it summarises our relationship: sometimes playful and cheeky, sometimes ‘don’t know what you’re talking about’ (literally) but always ‘we’re in this together forever’.

  1. How sweet!!! Lovely post. You’re a lovely couple and your kids are gorgeous. “Real love”, I think, is not always the most glamorous but definitely the most romantic.

    1. Thanks! It wasn’t one of the pictures we had originally chosen for our wedding album but I really like it now as it feels really honest if you know what I mean… xx
