Best Papa Ever – My Captured Moment

As some of you know I like to complain that Mother’s Day is on different days in different countries which makes it really confusing if you’ve got a French/German family and are living in the UK… but for some mysterious reason Father’s Day seems to be on the same day for everyone which makes it extra special for our little international family.

I’d like to dedicate this week’s Captured Moment and Father’s Day feature to a very special Dad – the father of my children (that’s you Bertrand… even though you don’t think Leo looks like you…)!

You are the best Papa I could have ever imagined for my children because

  • you make the best porridge (even though it’s usually for a family of 10 rather than a family of 4)
  • you’re never angry when we wake you up in the middle of the night even though you get up at 5am every day
  • you love to make us laugh – even at 3am (see previous point)
  • you teach us all about the latest Apple products – sorry the new Apple TV has been postponed and can’t wait for the iphone 7 to come out so someone will get your iphone 6… or is it 5s…
  • you take so many pictures of us that you are still working on a photo album for 2013 because you have to pick the best 100 photos out of about 100,000!
  • you always put us first
  • you are so proud of all of us
  • you are the best swimming teacher (even though your methods might sometimes appear a bit extreme… i.e. they sometimes need to breathe a little before continuing to being dunked under water…)
  • you can fix absolutely everything (according to Maya)
  • you support our love of yoga even though you think it’s pretty strange… being upside down against a wall (Mama), inventing poses like “the Mango” or “the Tomato” (Maya), performing a quickie downward dog every time there is something on the floor that looks like a yoga mat (Leo)
  • you give the best hugs and kisses
  • you always think about how you can make us even happier than we are

Thank you for being the best Papa ever! We love you to the moon and back.

  3. Ahhhh this is lovely! And I was literally thinking the same thing, how come Father’s Day is on the same day across the world! All good though. This is a really special list, you’ve put a lot of thought into this (I’ve hardly done anything -oops. Got lots of cake though haha) #sundaystars Sabrina xx

  6. Great blog. Hope you all enjoyed Celebrating Father’s Day. Unfortunately my Dad died suddenly when I was young, I have only a few memories of him. I love to know that Fathers are involved in their children’s upbringing, and that children get the opportunity to express to their Dad just how much he means to them. More Celebration Days would/ could be Beneficial such as :- Friend’s / Freiendship Day, Aunie’s Day, Uncle’s Day etc. As life can be so busy sometimes, it is nice to have specific Day/s in which the country / Nation /Community /World can share in acknowledging / Celebrating positive, constructive interaction / relationships / connections etc.
