Hi, I'm Christine
When I was in my late teens and early twenties, I suffered from a lot of back pain related so uneven hips and left lumbar scoliosis.
After years of trying out different treatment therapies I found yoga to be the approach that had the biggest effect – not only physically but also emotionally and mentally. I had finally found something that could help me feel strong and in control of my own well-being.
My mission as a Yoga & Pilates teacher is to help you experience the benefits of these for yourself, to help you to improve your posture, relieve pain and improve your quality of life.
At Move with Scoliosis we offer innovative and personalised yoga programmes for those with scoliosis. We are committed to working with you so that you can feel and move well in your body now and in the long-term future.
My Story
I had been suffering from back ache since I was a teenager. Due to scoliosis and generally bad posture I had lots of tension in my upper back and neck and spent a lot of time seeing physiotherapists, osteopaths and chiropractors. I was hoping that they would "fix" me! I found those therapies to be helpful but nothing created a lasting effect.
When I discovered yoga for myself in my twenties I finally found something that could help me be in control of my own well-being. I could adapt my practice how I wanted to, depending on how I felt in my body. I went to different yoga classes all over London 2-3 times a week. I practised Ashtanga Yoga for about two years, I tried Iyengar Yoga, Bikram Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga and loved Scaravelli inspired Yoga.
I was getting stronger but also noticed that something was missing and that one side of my body felt completely different to the other. It was only once I started to learn more about scoliosis with teachers such as Elise Browning Miller and Adelene Cheong and adapt my practice to my individual curve that I truly felt balanced and in control!
I have been teaching since 2015 and have helped thousands of people with scoliosis from all over the world through my online classes, in person classes and my YouTube channel.
